This is why black people think white people are stupid.

Now wait a minute: I'm not calling "you people" stupid myself [I can say that, can't I? "You people"? I mean, I don't mean anything, you know, wrong by it.] I'm just saying that trite, smarmy shite like this is insulting to the sensibilities of sentient people. And the sentient people who are black think you people are stupid when you take great talent like Robert De Niro and the even sometimes great Anne Hathaway and churn out formulaic sentimental bullshite like this. [And if anyone is paying attention, I used the British "shite" twice, which means I am clearly a person of high class and exacting standards. So don't call me racist: that would be argument ad hominem and thereby flawed by definition among the argument crowd!].

It doesn't surprise me when De Niro does a mob film and no one of non-white heritage has a speaking part: the mob has yet to comply with anti-discrimination laws (and what else can you expect? I mean they break the law for a living -- duh!). But this piece of living feces on my shoe is chock full of meaningless cardboard cut-outs that serve as peripheral characters, so surely you people could reprise even a little Charlie Chanish white guy in yellowface (I've seen Jerry Lewis, John Wayne and lesser known whites do it, so back off with the jingoism grumbles!), or maybe a lazy Mexican or a well-meaning but nosy old black woman.

Because then I could have a reason to really hate this fucking crap instead of just have it annoy the fuck out of me. Yes, I am aware that Almost Christmas (2016) exists -- as well as the fact that each other David Talbert or Tyler Perry film is equally sentimental and hackneyed. But they have black people in them, with speaking parts! So racists can ignore the gooey garbage and just focus on the important part: hating black people!!

So when whites produce two-dimensional, white-people-only films with a couple of good actors, it makes nonwhites of all stripes question how the global dominance of European culture could have even happened. White people: you slippin!

The film industry has the best platform to counter racism and yet some writers and directors still choose to turn a blind eye on race issues such as how they cast 'non-white' (as you say) actors and the role they give them. It's pretty sad. The movie was fine but when you get into such details, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Just like the old days. A genuine (albeit mild) MguyX rant!
