The Big Lift�an interesting oddity, shot in devastated post-WWII Berlin , starring Montgomery Clift ( who also starred in The Search, set in the same locale) in which second-billed Paul Douglas tries throughout the film to explain the meaning of �democracy� to a young, nazi-brainwashed young woman.
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers�spoiler alert for those who are easily spoiled.
A crusading D.A. sends to prison a fast (literally & figuratively) young socialite on whom he has a crush. An early C.B. DeMille melodrama with a �message� and (and lots of decadence).
Cornel Wilde is literally on the run from �savages� who want to eliminate him.
A fast and efficient �B� in which an amnesiac who may have committed a murder is assisted by an attractive and clever cab driver. Filmed earlier (1936) with the cabbie a male and no romance.
