Benj, please could you delete thefoxboy's "Hanks is owin' Wilson" here as soon as possible as he had read mine in the F.Y.C.T.H. shortly before submitting it? Thanks.

So why is it on the site still? If you don't like it Alan Smithee it.

Because Benj hasn't chosen to remove it and transfer the votes, of course.

I didn't say I disliked it: I said it was too similar to other reviews. If I didn't like it, I would delete it; Smitheeing reviews is a terrible thing to do. It's also totally wrong as a solution to duplicate reviews, as the reviews are duplicates just the same, regardless of whether the reviewers are no longer owning up to them.

Nice V.D. pun, B.B. Shame you didn't check out the highest review for the film, though. I look forward to receiving your vote shortly.

I'd voted for it many moons ago. Not that I was consciously thinking of it when I submitted mine. I guess the MERPs thought both were valid.

Not very likely. They're hardly in the running for a Consistency of the Century award. What could they think that yours adds to the site?

1) Another review (hence the title of this website...)
2) a different approach on the same idea.

They would be my reasons.

Going by that logic, all submissions would be published automatically...

Hardly. An identical pun happening to have different insignificant words around it is not exactly a fresh 'approach'.

Here, demonic's "J.C. VD?" is newer than my "JC VD?", which was rejected twice before his was published and has now been again.

Benj, how on Earth should I deal with this please? I have reported it and posted here, but my older review keeps being rejected.

Thanks. I don't really want it to be like that previous case where my older review was rejected twenty times! It's a bit of a waste of my quota.

Quick question Benj - has the capability to report reviews recently been turned off or is my web browser playing up? I was trying to report a straight duplication of two "Princess Bride" reviews tonight and the submit button isn't doing anything at all.

This has always been the case with Google Chrome, and I recently told Benj about it, so perhaps he is in the middle of tweaking things.
