I wouldn't read too much into this, I think Yukon just contacted a sample of the top ranked reviewers to get a feeling for how up for this you guys would be. The manuscript still has some work to do on it so we really couldn't say for certain who is or isn't in it just yet anyway.

No worries. That comment was entirely tounge-in-cheek (as I hope the little devil smilie conveyed).

If any of my 400-some reviews get considered alongside the multiple thousands of this site's most prolific and stalwart reviewers, great.

But I do not mean to be construed as saying "Boo-hoo, I'm so great, how come I'm not in the book?"

...Just so I'm clear.

No, that'll be my response.

That's pretty much what I did - I had some time on my hands while Benj was compiling his half of the book so I sent out a few e-mails to some folks in the top 100. Although Benj does own the copyright, we just wanted to be nice. If anyone is completely opposed to their reviews going in the book, we'd likely respect their wishes.

Nobody should be offended if I didn't contact them in the early stages -- it doesn't mean you won't be in a FWFR book. It just means I have a full-time job, three kids, a wife and not a lot of free time.

Benj and I have a manuscript but our agent basically said it might get thrown out the window. An editor at a publishing house might say "I want a book of 1,000 reviews of only action movies so I can sell the book to the 18-35 male demographic."
We'll give them whatever they want to get a FWFR book published.

Absolutely. But I think I will outsource that project to my co-author Benj Clews.

Sadly, after some debate, there will be no porn/sex film section.
By including porn, you might scare off some female readers or religious readers. If a publisher thinks we've limited the market by 50 percent, he/she is less likely to buy the book.

But my dream is that FWFR:The Book gets published and becomes a hit, then one day we can publish a sequel book or porn puns and tasteless reviews because they are among the funniest ones on the site.

In the pub earlier today I thought a great possible title of a book of porn fwfrs if we were ever to do one:

Punography

The funny thing is, I just came out with it when I was talking.

Any plans of hitting the Balkan book market? It's next to the fish place near my cousin's house.

Anyone have any thoughts on this idea for the subtitle of the book?

Four Word Film Reviews: A picture's worth four words.

Alternatively, if the word 'picture' perhaps isn't a well-known enough word for a film, then it could be:

Four Word Film Reviews: A picture's worth a thousand words. Films are worth four.

Reminds me of a tagline I used on some banner ads in the early days...

If a picture paints a thousand words, do four words paint 1/250th of a picture?

As a matter of interest how is the book going are you further along the route to publication?

Have we got a date for release or has the idea been shelved(pardon the pun)

Just wondering

Well, I've done my part - tried with all my connections with everyone I could who has published anything. They all seem to think it would sell, but no one could get me a contact or give me any idea who we should submit the idea to.

(Some writers, they are! Harumph!)
