Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list. | Do not use reviews from the previous round: you must change them every round. | Post here to declare that youve done it: sooner is better than later. | Provide spoiler warnings in your post when appropriate. | Read the F.Y.C.s of all participants. | The next round starts on Monday at noon or later, F.W.F.R. time.

Au revoir to the EU... with five great French directors.

NB:
"Antoine and Colette" is the follow up to Truffaut's classic "The 400 Blows" in which teenage Antoine falls for but is rebuffed by the object of his desires.
Jean Renoir directed "The Crime of Monsieur Lange".
Bresson's "Diary of a Country Priest" sees a largely disliked curate, becoming increasingly sick.
Godard's "Masculin Feminine" the doomed relationship between a pompous and negative Jean-Pierre Leaud, and Chantal Goya, who was a "ye-ye" pop star.
Jacques Becker's "Casque D'or" follows Manda, a reformed criminal, falling back into dangerous company as a result of his love for a gang-connected prostitute.

How exciting. Was this in connection with the Bafta awards?

Well, in the sense that he was in London because of them. We invited him along to our event. You can see me, with the ridiculous beard, photobombing his interview here: https://www.plantbasednews.org/news/cant-be-protector-of-planet-not-vegan-joaquin-phoenix It's my handwriting that you see on the ground here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkmzPkE0SNU&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR1ig9i4PLbTg_oyBuwncxelR2Xnv3ACCYlN5kohnN0jYLIwjCiiVzKwKKU From about 2:35 I can be heard doing vegan outreach in Spanish behind the camera. It's horrendous hearing one's own voice, or at least it is for me. Oh, and then you can see me with the man bun in front of him from about 3:25 -- this is actually the first time I've watched it. He stood in the line for a full hour. The documentary that you can see at the end is Earthlings http://www.nationearth.com/, which he narrated.
