Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list. | Do not use reviews from the previous round: you must change them every round. | Post here to declare that youve done it: sooner is better than later. | Provide spoiler warnings in your post when appropriate. | Read the F.Y.C.s of all participants. | The next round starts on Monday at noon or later, F.W.F.R. time.

Lemmy in for #1362.

Roddy McDowall is a manservant who has to toughen up when he arrives in the old west. Playing with the title of a Buster Keaton classic.

A spritely Italian send-up of Disneys Fantasia is engaging even without the sorcerers apprentice.

The most successful Neil Simon films were adaptations of his plays. He wrote this parody of classic Bogart directly for the screen.

Johann Strausss wife Poldi has to contend with his roving eye.

Mae West goes North to the gold. A later film set in the same period was called North to Alaska.

Louis Fox's animated Matrix spoof gives examples from the animal industries.

Please watch the lovely short film about farmers Jay and Katja Wilde. I saw it on my lockdown birthday and it was the highlight of a generally miserable day.

Right afterwards, although I also saw it last year, I watched a film about plant-based bodybuilders and other athletes.

Here are my five reviews.

Five African stories

NB:
"Clash" is set entirely inside a police prison van during the Tahrir Square protests in Cairo.
Presley Chweneyagae plays the title role, a young delinquent living in the Soweto slums, in "Tsotsi".
In the Tunisian film "A Son" a child caught up in a terrorist shooting needs a liver transplant to save his life, which reveals a question of parentage and hidden infidelity.
Virunga National Park is a sanctuary for mountain gorillas, but is also wracked by a dangerous and deadly civil war.
In "Timbuktu" Islamic fundamentalists take over the titular city and start to enforce strict controls over the residents, including the banning of football.
