After seeing Heath Ledger in 'Dogtown', I think he has the potential to be a truly great character actor. According to reports, his version of the Joker is a couple of shades darker than Jack's Clown Prince Of Crime... less funny, more scary! |

The movie I was referring to is 'Lords Of Dogtown', based on the events covered in the great documentary 'Dogtown And Z-Boys'. Heath plays the character of the eccentric Skip Engblom and having seen him interviewed, I was impressed by how Ledger captured his personality so well. From what I've read Nolan has given him free reign with the Joker and I am very interested in seeing how he plays this cold blooded killer with a sick sense of humor.
Well he just has to reprise his role in The Brothers Grimm, then!

Posted - 12/01/2007 : 08:10:37 I've never seen this "Dogtown." Matter of fact, I've never seen anything that indicated that Heath Ledger has those kind of acting chops. I'm not saying that I expect him to do badly, I believe that Christopher Nolan is a smart man who casts his actors well. But if Ledger pulls this off, it will be the most unexpected star turn since Tom Cruise was the Vampire Lestat. |
