Well, to tell you the truth, it was my husband who introduced me to his music. I don't think we ever owned any of his albums on vinyl, but we did have a tape recording of Oxygene. Back in 1989 when I was pregnant with my 2nd son, I had to be hospitalized when the pregnancy became high risk. I was stuck in a room with a woman who snored like a train wreck. I tried earplugs but that didn't help. Then I came up with the idea of using my Walkman to help drown out the noise. I tried every tape I had with every type of music you can think of and the only thing that worked was Oxygene. It must have been something about the ambient noises in the music that worked to mask my roomates snoring. I've used that trick many times over the years, and it truly works each and every time! I now have the CD of that album and trust me, if I ever need it again, I'll be copying it onto my MP3 player.

(And yes, I know today's date but this is actually no joke.)

I loved the use of his (Junior's) music in the soundtrack of Gallipoli whenever Mel Gibson or Mark Lee were racing.
