A preposterous but lively action movie. Angie lays waste to dozens of cops, KGBers, spies, moles, you name it: I don't think a woman has ever killed so many people in a movie before. Two or three very cool stunts. Several reversals, but only if you haven't been paying attention. Potential sequel resolutely nailed. Philip Noyce, the director, commented after tonight's FSLC screening about having to change the lead from Tom Cruise to Angelina Jolie, and there were some contortions required. Popcorn is definitely necessary for full enjoyment.

Have you never seen Kill Bill?

Have you actually counted?

Hhmmm, I liked it in a way, but the whole plot was just too stupid and I remember feeling dissatisfied. However, the details as to why have not stayed with me, also not a good sign.

3/5

Saw this last night with Mrs C. It's fun in a "leave your brain at the door and pick it up on the way out" kind of way.

Watch, enjoy, but don't expect too much deep thinking from it.

During one chase scene everyone kept yelling "Salt! Salt! Salt!" and it reminded me of the last Jimmy Buffett show I went to (where everyone yells salt! salt! salt! during Margaritaville).

I just couldn't put that impression into 4 words. At least not yet.

"Salt" was nice summer fun but nothing special. i wonder if it would have been better or worse with Tom Cruise.

here's a review of mine that was rejected. i agree with the rejection, but thought it was worth sharing.
"Re-Bourne as a woman."

Well put! Preposterous but lively. I like that.

I was laughing like a kid through much of it, I figure out the 'whodunit' (now called twists) fairly early on, but really didn't really care, watching the bodies pile up. Some cool stunts and action sequences, and all pretty well done. It was a bit silly toward the big climax, but like I said, by then I didn't really care.

I had not heard that about Cruise, kinda makes sense in hindsight.

Full disclosure: I've had a soft spot for Jolie ever since Girl, Interrupted, so I may go along with her movies a bit more than some others.

And the popcorn was very fresh.
