I just got a job writing and editing a dumb, glitzy show called "Hollywood On Set." It features clips from three new movies out this week plus interviews of the stars and director praising their own work. Anyway, one of my tasks is to write a cheesy narration (for example, "This week on 'Hollywood On Set,' George Clooney gives Al Pacino a run for his money in the new crime comedy caper, Ocean's Thirteen."
Anyway, my boss told me that my cheesy TV writing isn't cheesy enough for him and requested that I include more puns about the specific movie (such as "a run for his money" for Ocean's Thirteen). I figured, what better place to find puns about movies than FWFR!
So here's my proposal: if I'm desperate for a pun about a specific new movie and I use a review from FWFR, I'll be happy to give votes to the person who's review I used and I'll alert them about my use of their pun on the FOURum or through a PM. Is this ok with everyone (especially Benj)? |

Salopian's right. Even if I were to use one of your puns, it would not have changed the script by more than 30%, which is the amount specified by the Writer's Guild for inclusion in the credits under "written by."
Unless you're working in 12 words or less!

It's highly unlikely that GHc will find anything usable among my dross (especially given that I usually wait until the film is available on CD in the UK), but I'm cool about their re-use. We all have to do our bit for the planet. |
