That the movie Gay Girls of Gotham City (1902) has nothing to do with the town where Batman takes place, nor does it have anything to do with lesbians. For their information, the city of New York was sometimes referred to as "Gotham City". That the Batman creator used this as the name of the town where the comic took place was to point up the dark side of town he was creating, practically twinning it with NYC. The movie in question was also filmed in New York - which is about the only information about this film that IMDb can give us.

Apparently, this information is not known to the MERPs or they wouldn't have declined all previous my reviews for this film (which I need to get at least one accepted for to get back my own Happy Heteros accolade). I have now submitted three new reviews for this film, including one that reads "NOT Batman's laughing lesbians", just to make this point.

Thank you for your attention!

Just imagine.....Catwoman and Poison Ivy in their lair...

Catwoman : " That Batman , he's such a macho stereotype"
Poison Ivy : " Yeah , lets cut him down to size !
Catwoman : " How about a bit of sapphic fun first! "
Poison Ivy : " We can't...it's 1902 "
Catwoman : " Fine,fine...lets have a game of canasta instead "

I had "Gotham Clity" rejected.

Just because "gay" here does not mean lesbian, you don't know that they're straight either. They could, co-incidentally, be lesbian or they could be bis.

Perhaps because the ones that were rejected (with no reason given) referred to either New York and/or happy women (as in gay=happy).

Since you don't comment on what your reviews were, i may be totally off the mark, apologies if so, just trying to be helpful

Good point. I deleted those first three rejections, but in addition to my negative review noted above, I also submitted:

Happy Heroines' NY niceties.
Straight ladies, shortened laughs.

The latter one refers to the movie being a short, rather than feature length film. I must admit that one of the rejected ones did have the word 'bat-ty' in it, since there is that immediate connection between Gotham City and Batman, but a batty person can also be really happy as well, and that's why I had it.

I have to admit that I submitted this film - having come across it in IMDb I just couldn't resist the title.

However, I haven't thought of a good review for it yet - and, as Chocky says, it, rather disappointingly, has nothing to do with Batman or Lesbians. Shame.
