He was popular (I think) in the 60s and 70s mainly. May have been in game shows or a comedian and possibly gay. I have an image of him in my head wearing pink pants which may or may not be true. Brown hair, laugh lines and a major tan. Not George Hamilton, Rock Hudson or Paul Lynde. The person I saw who made me think of him was Larry Storch in That Funny Feeling.

Sounds like it might be Soupy Sales - do a google image search. Popular tv star who made a couple of films. Got in trouble once for asking - as a joke - for kids to send him dollar bills.
Happy New Year, Tori!

Dick Shawn?
Actually I can picture the guy you may be thinking of. He looked like George Hamilton a bit. Maybe black hair? Can't figure out the name. |

Fred is NOT gay! Yes, I know. ;)
He started in a double act with Vic Greco in Greenwich Village. They played at various coffee houses before he joined Chicago-based improv group Second City.
I never saw him in pink pants!

Fred is not the one I'm thinking of. Mine is much less well known and more 1970s. |
