Manowar claims the title of "loudest band in the world", and the Guiness Book of World Records has documented them as the holders of the record for the loudest musical performance, at 129.5 decibels. Custom equipment was built for the band by John "Dawk" Stillwell, which helped achieve the massive sound.

Classic. My dad was good friends with Wally Whyton and now 'steps out' (or whatever 60-somethings do when they're dating) with his widow.

He was a lovely guy, I can remember he sent me a top of the range compass/geometry set when I was at school and getting good at maths.
