Yankees Pronuncing "Nevada" ... is it nev-ah-duh or na-vaa-duh?

If'n yew gots ta ask, yer probly frum th North. It's "Nevada". I'm going with the one that where the middle syllable sounds like "ad" as in advertise, as opposed to a middle syllable that sounds like "odd," as in, well, peculiar. This is any intersting choice because the word is Spanish (meaning "covered in snow" or "snowed-over" or "get the sled, Annie, it's a snow day!") and sounds more like "ahd" when pronounced in Spanish -- kind of a hybrid. Anyway, I'm going with Nev-ad-ah. Time off or time out?

Well, now it would depend on whether you'd been a good boy or a bad boy, wouldn't it now?? Oh, and whether being a bad boy is punishable or rewardable....for me, it's: Time off. But for time out: Stand in the corner or go to your room?
