Like I said elsewhere, this is such a very sad thing that I can't think of an obit FW. Just sad. |

Very sad news. Is it true that she walked away from it feeling fine? I haven't read about it, so it's hard to imagine what fatal brain injury could develop so slowly. How terrible for her 13- and 12-year-old sons especially. |

As I said in a related thread, I read a book in which something similar happened, although in a baseball accident. The initial impact is near the temple and causes a crack where a vein goes thru the skull. As a result, blood seeps into the brain area. Initially, the victim doesn't notice much, but within hours there are headaches, loss of coordination, often seizures before coma, then brain death. In Natasha's case, she was probably brain-dead before she left Quebec, and was only brought to New York to allow next of kin to say goodbye.
I've noticed that the resort have already passed along the info that they repeatedly insisted Richardson see a doctor after the fall, but that she refused. It may be a way to avoid a lawsuit, but it's also absolutely correct advice. |
