Well, it's been a year since my last win, could be a year until the next one, so I better pick a topic that interests me - I might not get to chose again for a while!
So here it is - anything you like, as long as it's relaed to Asia.
Why? Well as most of you know, the beautiful city state of Singapore has been my new home since the beginning of the year, and hopefully the topic is broad enough to produce a good range of entries
I will start you off with the Merlion, half fish half lion and the symbol of Singapore.
Suspect I'll change it before the weekend is over though

Sorry sean, duh - Penguins came a close fourth, just behind 'Asia', 'Easter' and 'Home'.
If you vote me 'winner' just another three times, we will be on to penguins |

I chose this picture, since it represents where my family comes from. A beautiful place in the Southeast of Asia. I thought a map of the place would be a good avatar. It aint gonna win me the competition, but it will do.

Excellent choice, Mampers.
I found this Shockwave graphic at askasia.org and adapted it for use as my avatar for this round.

To each his own!
Thousands gather for fertility festival Revelers at the Kanamara Matsuri Fertility Festival in Kawasaki on Sunday. (Mainichi/Ryann Connell)
KAWASAKI -- Thousands flocked to a small shrine here Sunday to take part in the Kanamara Festival, an event with roots dating back centuries and known for its huge consecrated phallus portable shrine carried mostly by transvestites.
Revelers also watched mostly young women sit atop huge wooden penises made as Shinto totems, each woman sparking a rapid-fire succession of camera flashes from the dozens of mostly middle-aged men armed with digital cameras.
Shinto fertility related items including amulets, prayer tablets and other religious paraphernalia were on sale, as were candies made in the shape of the genitalia of both sexes. Sellers of some candies found it hard to keep up with demand.

Bye bye Merlion, hello food
Some people belive that the Chinese missed a step in inventing chopsticks rather than the knife and fork, but be honest - what they lose in practicality, they make up for in fun value - nothing beats eating food with chopsticks.
In fact, food has to one of the greatest things about being out here, not only the quality and style of the food itself, but also the communal way it is iften eaten
Now the very greatest thing about being out here is how beautiful the women are .... ow ... stop hitting me .... no, no of course they're not as beautiful as Dutch women .... ow ...... |
