Manga/Anime is a pretty cool Japanese export. Love it or hate it, it's an art-form!
I remember being blown away by Akira when I saw it the first time. Manga movies aren't all at the same level, but there's also Spirited Away, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke... the list goes on. And who could forget the kids' favourite: 'Legend of the Overfiend'!?

Alrighty. Then let me tell you about a badass named Anderson, the coolest character in any anime series, or anything for that matter.
He's one of the Iscariotes, an elite band of Catholic vampire-hunters. He wields sharp blades that allow him to slice up pretty much anything, from vampires to subway trains. These blades are made of blessed papers, so in the blink of an eye, he can produce about two dozen of them and shove them all into your torso.
He can resurrect himself, so killing him won't do much for you.
When he's dispatched a passel of vampires, he's likely to say something like "May the Holy Spirit bless you all."
If you cut both his arms off, he'll put a blade between his teeth and charge.
He wears gloves that say "Jesus Christ is in Heaven."
And he's one of the villains of Hellsing.

That ... is a very good question. I have no idea. Maybe it takes a while for the arms to grow back.
Of course, anime series aren't exactly known for their rigorous logic.
