Here's one that was a famous real life trial and the inspiration for a great stage play that later was done on film: The Scopes Trial.
The truth about the Scopes trial. As you will read, the citizenry was enthusiastic about the affair as a means of PR for their little town. Thus, my avatar, a political cartoon from that period.

BTW - I found a really cool animated gif buit it is 106 K - too big barely - is there a free program that would allow me to compress this or shrink it so that I can get it under 100K? |
