Okay, file this one under "May not give a damn"...
After much deliberation and possibly throwing away my job to live the dream, Lisa and myself are putting plans in place to see the world from the start of June to the end of August. The plan is to spend about 6 weeks in Asia, followed by 5 weeks seeing bits of Australia and New Zealand, finishing off with a couple of quick stops in LA and NYC.
There's a lot to work out yet- how I maintain my comic book habit and surviving without my banjo during this time being top of the list, and there's nothing more definite than that right now, but I'd love to meet up with as many of my far-flung fellow fwfr'ers as I can in this time. Don't worry- we won't be wanting to crash on your couch, clean out your fridge and steal your cat, I just think this would be a perfect opportunity to meet everyone.
I'll let you know more as and when it happens... |

If you want some advice on where to go etc in NZ, let me know. I'm in Nelson, at the top end of the Sth Island. I've never met a fwfrer so if you're going anywhere near here, I'd love to catch up for a pint.
BTW, you do know it's winter down here then, right? Winters are fine here, tend to get settled weather and sunny days, just errrmmm... colder than summers. |

I'm gonna be in Australia for a good half of July and am planning to meet up with thefoxboy and Conan and anybody else who wishes it would be cool if we had a massive meeting downunder.
Enjoy your trip and I hope you and Lisa have the best of times.

I'm sure tfb & I can rustle up some grub(s) when you visit Down Under. (We could even take you to an Aussie Rules match at the MCG at that time of the year.) |

No stopover in singapore? Could pop over to the airport if it's only a couple of hours. |

Huh? And all this time I thought I was in the Middle East.
(Actually, Asia doesn't really want us, Europe can just barely stand us but doesn't accept us as part of them, and Africa would prefer to ignore us, so here we are, stuck in the middle with "east".)

O.K., I don't want to get into all the political issues, and I know that on news maps they often have the Middle East as a separate area (though the same often goes for the former Soviet Union), but in terms of concrete facts, Israel and Arabia are in the continent of Asia. |
