To answer old Bean - apparently, a wire-haired Terrier. It was pure bred and from what my parents told me, they couldn't just name him "Atlas" since there were rules back then about letters in the name of a registered pure bred dog. The dog's full name was:
"Rae and Roy's the Mighty Atlas"
Really. Honest truth. But since it was all dull grey coloured and my mother was a smoker, my father nicknamed it Ashtray. My sister and the dog didn't get along and they got rid of it before I was born. Then allergies developed and so that was the last 'family' pet we had.
(Aside from my sister's guppie - that got eaten by her snail. Go figure!) |
