They are both examples of overblown excess, but I have to go with the Opening Ceremonies because they signal the beginning of Olympic competition. The Closing Ceremonies force you to look ahead and realize their won't be another Olympics for 2 years. 2-man (or Woman) Beach Volleyball or 6-man (or Woman) indoor Volleyball?

From a terribly chauvanistic point of view, with the memories on Bondi still fresh: 2 woman (or, I guess, man ) beach volleyball. Ian Thorpe: Greatest ever? Yes or no.

A true Aussie couldn't answer anything but swimming! Greek sprinters who crashed their car to avoid a drug testing hearing: Really dodgy, guilty as hell or Just a coincidence, benefit of the doubt ?

Less than 4, and certainly less than 7. Are the Olympics really amateur or professional?

Depends on the sport (and the country of origin for the athlete) but generally these days with squillionaire basketball and tennis players: professional What's worse in diving? Clipping the board with your feet or a spectacular back-whacker

(and squillionaire footy players like Kily Gonzalez and Cristiano Ronaldo) Back hit think. Ouch. most boring: Dressage or Shooting
