As we have a brand spanking new forum area for this, I thought I would take this opportunity to post the rules for everyone, old and new, to check.
First thing to remember is that I am god of the Avatar Contest. Praise my name. Now, for the rules.
The Rules
The avatar contest is open to every member of the FWFR site. To enter, all you have to do is change your avatar to match (vaguely in some cases) the current theme, then post into the current thread announcing, and explaining if necessary, your avatar. Simple as that. You'll need to keep your new avatar until the results of the contest have been posted. Also, avatars may be a little risque, but nothing explicit please.
Voting.
If you have entered the avater contest, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total. This could mean the difference between stardom and serfdom!
You do not have to enter an avatar to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite avatars. The voting is as follows:
Favourite avatar: 3 points
2nd Favourite: 2 points
3rd favourite: 1 point
You cannot vote for yourself, or the person who chose the theme.
You vote by sending me (or if I am away, my duly appointed deputy) your votes in a PM (Private Message).
You can vote as many times as you want, but only the most recent vote counts. This lets you change your minds, you indecisive lot!
(If you are Greece, then you cannot award Cyprus 12 points!!!)
When the votes are all in or the time limit is up, the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.
The winner then gets to make an acceptance speech, and choose the theme for the next contest.
... and that�s about it.

Alternate 'Roolz'!
#1 - The first rule of the Avatar Contest is, you do not talk about the Avatar Contest.
#2 - The second rule of the Avatar Contest is, you DO NOT talk about the Avatar Contest.
#3 - If someone says stop, goes limp, taps out, the the Avatar Contest continues regardless.
#4 - One Avatar to a FWFRer.
#5 - One Avatar Contest at a time.
#6 - No shirts, no shoes.
#7 - Avatar Contests will go on as long as they have to.
#8 - If this is your first night at the Avatar Contest, you have to enter an avatar.

BTW EG. You might want to mention how much skin people are allowed to show...before someone finds a loop.
oh..and if you dont vote. How many points you lose. gotta think of everything! |

TO those newbs out there. THis is now wrong. Each contest now has a selected vote getter. Pay attention to the thread and you will find out who your votes go to.

To those newer than newbies, or those who just want a refresher, the theme chooser is now eligible to receive votes, so you can now vote for whichever avatars you see in the contest you like (except your own, of course).
Also I am taking over as the official vote counter for the time being, so when it comes time to vote, send me a personal message here.

The Avatar Gallery now is being served at www.fwiffer.com. Previously it was set up with domain forwarding but now it is set up with a domain pointer. Adjust your bookmarks! |
