Somewhat surprisingly, we haven't covered singers before. (We've done song lyrics, musical instruments, interpretation of bands/singers, but not singers.)

So here's Natalie Imbrughlia, decidedly uncovered.

I'm a little dylsexist, and a bad spelr.

I thought you wanted "signers," so I went with this merry batch of pranksters stating very loudly how independent they are. Those minxes.

On the other hand, we could suppose that they were the original group that sang "Independant Woman" (currently thought to have originated by that group that Beyonce came from). "I depend on meat."

I haven't got a name for this singer yet, will try to think of one later.

Ahh, I've just remembered the name of this moderately famous soprano.

Actually, they recorded the original version of "Sign Your Name," which Terrence Trent D'Arby later rose to fame with.

They followed it up with "We're Gonna Wash Those Brits Right Out of Our Wigs."

You can come round and beat my bare chest any time, StaLean.

Ah, Freddie. I saw Queen before they became world-famous (in 1974), and in those days it was relatively easy to get to the front of the auditorium and watch them play from close quarters. Can't remember whether Freddie ever exposed his chest during their performance at Birmingham Town Hall. Good gig though. I've still got a cassette tape with my recording of it - terrible sound quality and so not a collector's item methinks.

The Jazz Singer. Relevant to this Avatar and this website, since it promotes the first time that sound was used in movies, and he is a singer. Pity about the blacking up eh

The Diva Plavalaguna from "The Sixth Element".

Sample her songs.

Site about The Diva.

How many others of us were, like me, motivated to acquire the soundtrack or a DVD of the film for the pleasure of hearing The Diva perform 'Lucia Di Lammermoor' and 'The Diva Dance'?

The Diva was played by Maiwenn Le Besco and her singing was done by Inva Mulla Tchako (with some digital tweaking for The Diva Dance).
