As I recall they pretty much ran me $5 or $6 bucks apiece, so yes, I blew a fair amount of cash on the effort.

My son, 11, loves The Beatles. I think it's so cute. I try to encourage his interest in them.

And he is doing something called a "Live Wax Museum" where the 5th Graders dress up like a person from history and learn a bunch about them and do a speech like the person and have a bunch of stuff on display. He chose John Lennon. Should be cute and fun.

I loved The Beatles when I was a kid, too. Until I found Elvis Costello. :)

Boys! Really.

As a kid I wasn't allowed to put posters up on the wall. Didn't have much wall space anyway. But we did each get our own cork bulletin boards. Mine I filled mostly with pictures of (okay, so I was a very unusual kid) the original star of "Dark Shadows"...

Jonathan Frid

as well as (like many, many girls my age)...

Davey Jones!

That Dark Shadows guy is just creepy.

The Monkees? I liked Peter Tork best myself. :)

Be careful, once he's 12 encouraging him to like anything can only have the opposite effect.

Oh, so THAT's why my parents told me to drink, smoke, and do drugs when I was 12! *Doink* No wonder they got so angry with me when I took their advice.

I don't think he's going to be that kind of kid. But my 14 year old daughter and my 7 year old son, I think they might be that type. More likely to rebel.

Yeah, and that's why they told you to be careful crossing busy roads.

You never know, Em. My oldest was the kind of kid no one would ever think would be the type to stop listening to his parents, and yet, there was a stage when whatever we did, said or liked was wrong. Thankfully, that passed quickly. My younger son never really rebeled, but he's always been very particular and opinionated about his tastes and hardly ever tries things we recommend. My duaghter has been a rebel since she was able to talk, and while we argue with her a great deal, she listens (now) a good deal to her older brother, and ever since she stopped being friends with one girl, she's been a bit less problematic.

(For reference - they're aged 23, 18 and 15.)
