and now Omaha hi lo. Best Omaha hand I ever drew. Luck plays a significant part
I don't understand Omaha What did u win that hand with? 4 of a kind or a wheel str8? or what?
In omaha you must use 2 cards in your hand. In hi lo you can use different 2 cards. I won the high with 4 3s, the low with A2345. Because you must use 2 cards the quad 4s in opponent's hand doesnt count. |

Ok, so do you have to have both Hi & Low to win the hand? |

No, the high wins half the pot and the low the rest. This was a scoop in that I won both the high and the low. |

So I take it that you can use whichever two cards for high and a different two for low?
Wouldn't 'pokerlil' have won the low?
Sorry, just trying to understand it. |

Straights dont disqualify a low hand. Yes you can use different cards for the high and low. I have the rock bottom low 5432A. Pokerlil had a 6543A low. Omaha is very confusing. Omaha hi lo is more so.

http://www.pokerhandreplays.com/multihands.php/id/4377 Here is an Omaha high low sit and go tourny. I made the mistake of thinking I could play more than one at the same time. I also played in a hold'em sit and go. I made a lot of errors and had a hard time reading the players and board. When the bubble arrived at both tables around the same time I really struggled since with only 4 players left on each table, decisions had to be made quickly. I lucked out and finished in the money in both. I wont try this again. |

Here I have quads vs a full house on a micro stakes table. I checked twice to trap him. By his betting I thought he had a full house. He should have slowed down after my first re-raise on the turn. If he thought about it, the only thing I could have that he could beat would be a full house 6s over jacks.
If I had Jx, I would NOT have checked on the flop (that would set myself up to be beat on the turn). The most likely hands I had would have been J6 J9 JJ. If I was bluffing, my check raise would have been higher to try to force him off the hand.
I knew he wasn't bluffing since he took it up too slowly. By my last raise he was pot committed.
I also had quads against another tourist at the Bellagio and played it the same way. He said, "I couldn't lay down a boat". I said, "Yeah, just bad luck". |

I'm on top of the leaderboard in my pub poker region at the moment.
I had a win on Tuesday nite, I had two very lucky hands on final table. I cracked pocket Ks with a 4 in the window to trip up my pocket 4s Then small blind limped in with my big blind special of 4 5 off suit, flop comes 4 5 9, I jam all in, small blind calls and turns over pocket As. Teaches him a lesson for slow playing AA.
